In the first photo you may see a Dragon Boat (trust me) with its rowing team in training for the annual Rose Festival competition.

The second shows the Portland Spirit dinner boat returning from a lunchtime cruise upriver. Here the industrial Hawthore Bridge is raised to permit passage of the larger vessel.
