mass transit...

Not all of our time in Paris was spent in the dark. We did rise now and again to see the sights of the city veiled in a grey winter light.

We observed many of these public bicycle stands, very well designed to make hiring a bike quick and easy. Just slip a credit card into an ATM-like kiosk, pick out a bike, and be on your way. Each bike is equipped with safety lights, a convenient basket, and a little bell. The charge to your card is determined at the time you lock the bike up at any other station. If your trip is quick, you don't pay a thing!

Don't you just hate these Europeans!
