Teshka prepares to use the public bathing facilities.

Our accomodation in Siena was spartan, an old monastery modestly converted to sleeping rooms and run by an order of the strictest nuns. As an example, our request for a second cup of tea in the morning drew cold scowls of disapproval and possibly even eternal damnation.

These baths are centuries old. As with many things you may have heard of in Italy, old and new, you can see they are crooked, leaning just like the Tower at Pisa.
