This 13th/14th century cathedral on a hilltop dominates both the skyline and consciousness of Siena.

Stylewise, I dunno, not exactly Frank Lloyd Wright. It seems like the facade committee, the round dome committee, and the square tower committee were all working from a different set of plans.

In the best Italian tradition, the square tower leans precariously. A crane is installed in a last-ditch attempt to keep it from toppling.
