taking the ekspres...

The Mt. Dajti "Ekspres" cable car is one of our favorite adventures in Tirana.

The journey takes about 20 minutes to the top, swooping out silently into space, gliding up up up up, our hi-tech pod slinging and rocking gently through the breeze, suspended by a mere steel tether over the rugged landscape far below.

It is a great time for imagining fantastic disasters and exciting James Bond scenarios!

(And maybe in Albania such disasters are really not such a far-fetched possibility?)
