The trulli are a way of life in this part of Italy. Before we got here I was thinking, oh, there are probably just a few of them nowadays, artificially preserved and hyped up as a tourist spectacle, just enough to fake you out on a postcard.

But they are really everywhere about, both in town and the countryside.
